General Conference has taken off. We are earnestly requesting regular intercession and prayer. We will keep you informed with regular reports from Fort Worth on what is happening and will share with you prayer concerns each day. This link will take you to a Prayer Guide that has been prepared by Beth Ann Cook and we commend it to you for your use these next eleven days. It will be helpful in giving directions as you pray, along with items we will be sending each day.

The 2008 United Methodist General Conference in Ft. Worth, Texas, provides our denomination with an opportunity to take another major step forward toward reform, renewal, and revitalization! The Renewal and Reform Coalition desires to build on the momentum of the significant gains made at Pittsburgh in 2004 and Cleveland in 2000 and we plan on working to see the progress extended into the next quadrennium.

This is a critical time for our church. And frankly, one of the greatest dangers we face is complacency. We need greater wisdom now than ever before, and much prayer as we seek a renewed and reformed denomination.

Coalition Priorities
• Membership standards
• The Critical Role of the Judicial Council
• Empowering the Central Conferences
• Advocacy for Women and Children
• The General Conference in the Context of a World-wide Church
• Doctrine, Accountability, Leadership and the Council of Bishops
